6 Die on SC Roads over Weekend

At least six people died on South Carolina's roads over this past weekend.

The state Department of Public Safety says two of them were wearing seat belts, but four were not.

This follows eight deaths over the Labor Day holiday weekend in our state.

As of midnight Sunday, 492 people had lost their lives in traffic mishaps so far this year in South Carolina, or 70 fewer than at the same time last year.

Greenville County has the highest number of highway deaths at 45, followed by Richland County at 41.

Edgefield County continues to be the state's only county with no traffic fatalities so far this year.
