Home Works Moving to Interim Home

It's moving time for the Columbia volunteer effort that performs free home repairs for the needy and elderly.

The warehouse that Home Works has used rent-free to store tools and building materials the past decade was sold.

And Home Works founder Hank Chardos says they have to vacate to an interim location for now.

“We have found at least a temporary home at the Cooperative Ministry and there are some entities and some individuals in town who are looking for a permanent residence for Home Works,” Chardos tells WVOC.  “So in the meantime, we are going to be rolling up our sleeves, loading up 15,000 square feet of tools and equipment and building materials.”

Chardos says over the next three weekends, they'll be transferring to the temporary site.  And he says anyone wishing to help with the move from the warehouse next to Owens Airport (2812 William Tuller Drive) will be welcome.

They'll start Friday morning at 8 a.m. and also will be moving on Saturday...then Wednesday through Saturday next week...and Friday and Saturday the following weekend.
