A West Columbia police officer has been fired after he was arrested on obscenity charges involving a teenage girl in Iowa.
The State newspaper reports that police in Pleasant Hill, Iowa, say that 30-year-old Andrew Haney chatted online with a 13-year-old girl in September and asked her for photos.
Police say she sent several of herself in her underwear, and that Haney allegedly sent explicit photos of himself to the girl.
Investigators say they traced the pictures back to Haney because in one photo, the South Carolina state seal was visible on his badge, and another shows a West Columbia Police car.
Haney was a graduate of the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy in May of last year and had worked for the West Columbia Police Department for two years.
