Three Charged in Fire Chief Stabbing

The State Law Enforcement Division says three women have been arrested in connection with the fatal stabbing of Branchville Fire Chief Alan Oakley.

The suspects include Oakley's wife, 40-year-old Melody Oakley (pictured), as well as 47-year-old Ann Anderson and 25-year-old Carrie Brown.

They face charges of murder and conspiracy.

According to arrest warrants, the three women allegedly planned and carried out the murder of 48-year-old Alan Oakley, who died Saturday after being stabbed in the neck.

Oakley was president of the Orangeburg County Firefighters Association and was employed by the Orangeburg County Fire District.

His funeral is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday at Branchville High School.

Visiting hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. at the school on Friday.
